Mobile Banking FAQ's

What is the URL to access Mobile banking with my mobile device?
The URL is mobile.mtnwestbank.com or www.mtnwestbank.com

I tried to access Mobile Banking, but I get a "page not found" error. What's the deal?
Make sure you didn't type "www" at the beginning of the URL. The URL is just http://mobile.mtnwestbank.com. No "www" needed.

How much does it cost to use Mobile Banking?
Mountain West Bank does not charge any fees to use Mobile Banking! However, your wireless service provider may charge additional fees for internet access and/or for the bandwidth used or SMS text messaging. Contact your wireless service provider to get more details on the actual cost of using your device to access the internet.

Will Mountain West Bank's Mobile Banking service work on my phone?
The Internet enabled service is designed to work on all web-enabled mobile phones, Palm Handheld, Pocket PC Device, or RIM Blackberry and the SMS text messaging service should work with any standard text messaging client.

I can't figure out how to access the Internet with my phone. Can Mountain West Bank help me?
We can try! However, with so many different types of phones that support internet access, it's really hard for us to be able to walk you through the details. Your best option for help would be to consult the manual that came with your phone, or contact your wireless service provider for assistance.

Is it safe to access my accounts using this technology?
YES! Mobile Banking is brought to you in partnershiop with MShift, Inc. (www.mshift.com), and allows access to your Mountain West Bank account from any web-enabled mobile phone, Palm Handheld, Pocket PC Device, or RIM Blackberry. Mobile Banking requires the same secure login information that is used to log in to Mountain West Bank's Online Banking. Passwords and PIN numbers are never stored at any stage. Your data is encrypted using the Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS) protocol, which provides the highest level of security available today. Additionally, all data that passes between the wireless gateway, MShift's servers, and Mountain West Bank's web servers is encrypted usng the Secure Socket Layer (SSL). Mobile Banking has a built in Session Time-Out after 5 minutes of inactivity. This prevents someone from picking up a Mountain West Bank member's wireless device and accessing their accounts if they forget to logout from their previous session.

What do I do if I lose or upgrade my cell phone / smart phone?
Your sign-on security information is not stored on your cell phone but as a precaution we recommend that you contact Mountain West Bank and have your Internet Banking password reset. If you purchase a new phone you will also have to answer the OnGuard security question the first time you log in.

If you are using the SMS text messaging service you will want to log in to the SMS text service management page and unregister your missing or old cell phone. You can also change your PIN number as an additional precaution. Again these are precautionary measures as no security information is stored on your cell phone / smart phone.

What is SMS text messaging?
SMS is an acronym for Short Message Service text messaging. It is the most commmon type of text messaging service and is used by most cell phone carriers. If you have difficulties with the Mobile Banking SMS text messaging service you want to confirm that your carrier is using SMS text messaging.
