5. What is Overdraft Privilege?

Overdraft Privilege is a discretionary service offered by Mountain West Bank. Rather than return unpaid any insufficient funds items, we will consider, without obligation on our part, payment of your reasonable overdrafts. Eligible personal checking accounts may have privileges up to $700.00 and eligible business checking accounts up to $1000.00.

  • We will charge our normal non-sufficient funds or overdraft charges for each item that would create an overdraft on your account. These charges are included in the limits listed above.


  • You may choose at any time to not participate in our Overdraft Privilege Service by notifying one of our Customer Service Representatives.


  • ATM Balances include the Overdraft Privilege, so please keep this in mind as it may look like there is more money in the account than is actually available.
